Two questions every trade asks us once the site is built. Here are both answers in plain words, with nothing hidden in the small print.
We host on Cloudflare Pages, a network of machines rather than one box, so the page is served from whichever is nearest the phone and the padlock renews itself. Nothing monthly at the sale. The care plan is offered after you are live and covers page updates, new photos and extra town pages. You keep your domain either way.
What hosting means, without the jargon
Your site has to sit on a computer somewhere so people can open it. That is all hosting is. We put ours on Cloudflare Pages, which is a network of machines spread around the world rather than one box in a data centre.
Three things come out of that. It is quick, because the page is served from whichever machine is nearest to the person holding the phone. There is no server software waiting to break or be patched. And the padlock in the address bar, the HTTPS bit, is set up and renewed for you.
So there is nothing for you to log into, nothing to update on a Sunday night, and no plugin that can take the site down while you are up a ladder. It stays up when a job does the rounds on the local Facebook group, and every version is kept, so a bad change can be put back.
What the care plan covers once you are live
Nothing monthly is part of the sale. You buy the site, it goes live, and that is the transaction finished. The care plan is something we offer afterwards, once you have used the site for a bit and know what you actually want changing.
When firms do take it, this is the work it covers. New photos from last week's job put into the gallery at the right sizes. Copy changes when you drop a service or add one. A new page each month, usually another area you cover. And we watch the site, so a broken form gets found by us rather than by a customer.
If you would rather not have it, the site keeps working. It is a set of files on a fast network, not a rental that stops when you do.

The build price is on our pricing page. The care plan has no figure here on purpose, because it only comes up after the site is live.
Who owns what
The domain is yours. If you already have one, it stays in your name and your account, and we point it at the new site. You keep the address you have put on the van and the invoices, plus any links other sites have earned you over the years.
The site files are yours too, in full, once it is paid for. Ask for them and you get them. No part of the build is locked behind a licence you have to keep paying for, and there is no clause that lets us switch it off.
Move to somebody else and you take the domain and the files with you. We would rather earn the next year than hold the keys.

Do I have to pay you every month?
No. Nothing monthly is part of the sale. You buy the site and it goes live. The care plan is offered after go-live and it is your choice.
Can I keep my current domain?
Yes. It stays in your name and your account, and we point it at the new site. You keep the address on your van and any links you have earned.
What happens to my old site while you build?
It stays up and working. Nothing changes at your address until you have seen the new site live and told us to swap it over.
Who fixes it if something breaks?
We do. There is no plugin stack to go wrong, but if a form stops sending or a page misbehaves, you message us and we sort it.
If I stop working with you, do I lose the site?
No. The domain is yours and the files are yours in full once it is paid for. Ask and you get them, with nothing locked or switched off.
