Websites for fencing firms in Trowbridge that carry all five Trowbridge areas.

Wiltshire Council's own conservation areas data records three areas carrying the Trowbridge name, and our own total over the five named town areas is 16,400 properties.

We build a page per job and one for each Trowbridge area, with a quote tool that takes a photo down the run. Our own total over the five named town areas is 16,400 properties, 29.1 per cent of them built between 1973 and 1999 (VOA CTSOP4.1). See it live before you pay a penny, live in 7 days.

The houses in Trowbridge

Our own total over the five Trowbridge census areas, North, East, West, South East and South, is 16,400 properties (VOA CTSOP4.1, stock at 31 March 2025). 15.6 per cent were built before 1919 and 23.5 per cent before 1940, with 22.6 per cent between 1945 and 1972, 29.1 per cent between 1973 and 1999 and 25.1 per cent in 2000 or later. The percentages use rounded VOA cells. The rounded build period cells total 60 properties more than the 16,400 property total, and the displayed shares do not sum to exactly 100 per cent.

The published Wiltshire row records 233,060 properties, 26.1 per cent of them built before 1940. Census 2021 table TS044 records detached houses running from 11.3 per cent in Trowbridge North to 38.7 per cent in Trowbridge East, and purpose built or converted flats from 9.2 per cent in Trowbridge West to 28.2 per cent in Trowbridge North. Those are accommodation type figures.

We would build a page for each of the five areas, each carrying its own figures and the runs, gates and decks you have finished there.

Trowbridge East

4,580 properties, 43.7 per cent built from 2000 onwards, with 15.1 per cent from before 1940 (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025). Census 2021 records 38.7 per cent detached.

The three Trowbridge conservation areas

Wiltshire Council's own open data records three conservation areas carrying the Trowbridge name: Trowbridge (CA/W/202), Trowbridge (Hilperton Road) (CA/W/203) and Trowbridge (Newtown) (CA/W/204).

The rules that change a fencing job in Trowbridge

Wiltshire Council's own published conservation areas layer holds 244 conservation area records for the county, three of which carry the Trowbridge name: Trowbridge (CA/W/202), Trowbridge (Hilperton Road) (CA/W/203) and Trowbridge (Newtown) (CA/W/204). The council's open data description states that "the local planning authority have a statutory duty to designate and manage conservation areas under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990".

The Planning Portal sets the national rule behind every Trowbridge job. It says you will not need to apply for planning permission to erect a new, or alter, maintain, improve or take down an existing fence, wall or gate where it is "next to a highway used by vehicles (or the footpath of such a highway) and it would not exceed one metre in height (from ground level)", or where "it would not exceed two metres in height (from ground level) if elsewhere". Where a Trowbridge boundary already exceeds those limits, the condition is that "its height would not be increased".

Those conditions also require, at a Trowbridge address, that "no part of the site is a listed building or within the curtilage of a listed building" and that "the right to put up or alter fences, walls and gates has not been removed by an article four direction or a planning condition". In a Trowbridge conservation area the Planning Portal says "you might need permission take down a fence, wall or gate".

In Trowbridge we would explain how you check the conservation boundary, any Article 4 direction and the proposed work before confirming whether permission is needed.

Who you are up against in Trowbridge

We counted the Google Maps results for fencing contractors in Trowbridge on 16 September 2026. The sample was six fencing firms with a Trowbridge address: four had their own website and two had none. Three more fencing firms sat nearby in Westbury, Warminster and Frome, and three further Trowbridge firms were in adjacent trades. Nineteen listings had addresses in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire or Oxfordshire, and nine listed no address at all.

That is one dated sample of one Trowbridge search. What we would do with it is give Trowbridge East, North, West, South and South East a page each, carrying the runs and gates you have finished in them.

Where a fencing firm in Trowbridge gets to when they invest

Three Trowbridge firms appeared in the first ten Google local listings we checked for "fencing contractors in Trowbridge", with sites worth opening. One publishes a timber treatment guide beside its project pages, one puts a landline and a mobile in the header of every page, and one runs a page for Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon, Melksham and Westbury.

  • 1st Aid 4 Fencing Ltd

Built on WordPress. It carries photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. It has no page per area. Quotes come by phone, and the phone number sits in the header.

It publishes a timber treatment guide alongside the project pages.

  • T Deacon Ltd Fencing and Landscapes

Built on WordPress. It carries photographs of its own jobs. It has no page per area and no reviews on the page. Quotes come by phone, and the phone number sits in the header.

Sheds, fencing, gates, turfing and the timber yard each get their own place in the navigation, and both a landline and a mobile sit in the header on every page.

  • Gordon's Home & Garden

It carries a page per area, photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. Quotes come through a form, and the phone number sits in the header.

The site has separate service pages and an areas page linking a page for Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon, Melksham and Westbury.

All three keep the phone number in the header, two carry reviews on the page, and one runs a page per area. Each one opened and checked 16 September 2026 or 17 September 2026.

  • "fence repairs Trowbridge"

no recorded monthly volume (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

A row came back for that Trowbridge wording with nothing against it. The Trowbridge new fencing page carries the wording.

Fencing contractors in Trowbridge ask us

  • Trowbridge feels like several towns in one. Does the site need to reflect that?

Census 2021 records detached homes at 38.7 per cent of households in Trowbridge East and 11.3 per cent in Trowbridge North, and our own total over the five areas spreads almost evenly across four build periods. The housing mix varies between them. A page per area would carry that context beside your own completed local jobs.

  • Are the Trowbridge conservation areas worth a mention on the site?

Yes. Wiltshire Council's own conservation areas data records three areas carrying the Trowbridge name: Trowbridge, Trowbridge (Hilperton Road) and Trowbridge (Newtown). The Planning Portal rule says permitted development does not apply where the right has been removed by an article four direction, and the page would state that check plainly.

  • Why did my Google search show fencers from Gloucestershire?

The Trowbridge pull on 16 September 2026 returned 40 listings. Six were classified as Trowbridge fencing firms, while 19 had addresses in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire or Oxfordshire and nine listed no address. The recorded results show that spread. They do not establish why Google returned those particular businesses.
