Websites for fencing firms in Weston-super-Mare that split Worle from the town.

North Somerset Council lists an Article 4 direction for stone walls in the Great Weston conservation area, which it says was created in 2018 out of five earlier designated areas.

We build a page per job and a page per area, with a quote tool that takes a photo down the run. Our own total over the ten named Weston-super-Mare areas is 41,290 properties, 18.5 per cent of them built in 2000 or later (VOA CTSOP4.1). See it live before you pay a penny, live in 7 days.

The houses in Weston-super-Mare

Our own total over the ten named Weston-super-Mare areas is 41,290 properties (VOA CTSOP4.1, stock at 31 March 2025). 9,270 predate 1919, which is 22.5 per cent, and 13,470 predate 1940, which is 32.6 per cent. 11,480, which is 27.8 per cent, went up between 1973 and 1999, and 7,630, which is 18.5 per cent, in 2000 or later. That is our own total over the named Weston-super-Mare areas, not a published town row.

The published North Somerset row records 101,970 properties, 17.2 per cent of them pre 1919 and 20.3 per cent built since 2000. Census 2021 table TS044 for the district records 33.1 per cent of households detached, 30.1 per cent semi detached, 18.7 per cent in purpose built or converted flats and 15.1 per cent terraced. The district figures do not measure garden boundaries.

We would build a page for the Worle and St Georges estates and a page for the older town, each naming its own areas and carrying your finished runs there.

Weston Winterstoke

72.1 per cent built in 2000 or later, with 33.0 per cent of households semi detached and 32.6 per cent terraced (VOA CTSOP4.1 and Census 2021 TS044).

Weston Milton and Weston Uphill

Weston Milton is 45.0 per cent semi detached and 38.0 per cent detached with 38.9 per cent built between 1945 and 1972; Weston Uphill is 70.5 per cent built between 1945 and 1972 and 34.8 per cent detached (Census 2021 TS044 and VOA CTSOP4.1).

Rear garden runs and side gates on post war plots in Weston Milton and Weston Uphill.

Weston Town and Weston Hillside

70.7 per cent and 64.2 per cent built before 1940, with purpose built or converted flats at 54.1 per cent and 63.0 per cent of households (VOA CTSOP4.1 and Census 2021 TS044). The council identifies Town centre and Hillside among the four character areas of the Great Weston conservation area.

The rules that change a fencing job in Weston-super-Mare

North Somerset Council states the conservation layer in its own words: in a conservation area permission is needed for the "demolition of walls, gates and fences which are one metre or above and next to a highway including a public footpath or bridleway, waterway or open space" or "two metres or above elsewhere". It says the Great Weston conservation area "was created in 2018, and brings together the properties and streets previously in the Birnbeck, Melrose/Grove Park, Boulevard and Montpellier, Beach Lawns and Ellenborough Park conservation areas", and that it "also includes properties and streets in Weston town centre, the Whitecross area, Milton Road Cemetery and the Bristol Road Lower area". Its published list of Article 4 directions includes one for stone walls there, listed as "ATD55 Great Weston CA Article 4 stone walls", and the council describes such a direction as one that "removes the permitted development rights" for the works it covers.

The Planning Portal sets the national rule behind every Weston-super-Mare job. It says you will not need to apply for planning permission to erect a new, or alter, maintain, improve or take down an existing fence, wall or gate if all of its conditions are met, among them that it is "next to a highway used by vehicles (or the footpath of such a highway) and it would not exceed one metre in height (from ground level)", or that "it would not exceed two metres in height (from ground level) if elsewhere". Where a Weston-super-Mare boundary already exceeds those limits, the condition is that "its height would not be increased".

Those same conditions require, at a Weston-super-Mare address, that "no part of the site is a listed building or within the curtilage of a listed building" and that "the right to put up or alter fences, walls and gates has not been removed by an article four direction or a planning condition". The particular property and the proposed work are checked against the direction.

In Weston-super-Mare we would explain how you check the conservation boundary, any Article 4 direction and the proposed work before confirming whether permission is needed.

Who you are up against in Weston-super-Mare

We counted the Google Maps results for fencing contractors in Weston-super-Mare on 16 September 2026. The sample was 17 fencing, landscaping or grounds firms with a Weston-super-Mare postcode: 14 had a website and three had none. One more row was a local timber merchant. Ten rows showed no address, and 12 firms were addressed outside the town, from Clevedon, Highbridge, Burnham-on-Sea, Bridgwater and Taunton to Devon, Dorset and the West Midlands.

That is one dated sample of one Weston-super-Mare search. What we would do with it is give Worle, St Georges, Winterstoke, Milton, Uphill and the town centre a page each, carrying the runs and walls you have finished in them.

Where a fencing firm in Weston-super-Mare gets to when they invest

Three Weston-super-Mare firms appeared in the first ten Google local listings we checked for "fencing contractors in Weston-super-Mare", with sites worth opening. One carries a separate Weston and Bristol number in its header, one links a gallery from the main menu, and one runs an Instagram feed with three customer comments.

  • Weston Fencing

Built on Wix. It carries photographs of its own jobs. It has no reviews on the page. Quotes come by phone, and the phone number sits in the header.

The header carries a separate Weston and Bristol number, and the page states that the firm has been trading for over 40 years.

  • Worle Fencing

It carries photographs of its own jobs. It has no page per area and no reviews on the page. Quotes come through a form.

The gallery is linked from the main menu.

  • Elite Fencing and Garden Projects

Built on WordPress. It carries photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. It has no page per area. Quotes come through a form, and the phone number sits in the header.

The page displays an embedded Instagram feed and three customer comments.

Two keep the phone number in the header, one carries reviews on the page, and none of the two we could check run a page per area. Each one opened and checked 16 September 2026.

Fencing contractors in Weston-super-Mare ask us

  • Worle and the seafront feel like different businesses. Should the site say so?

Two pages, not one. VOA figures record Weston Winterstoke at 72.1 per cent built from 2000 onwards and North Worle at 94.5 per cent built between 1973 and 1999, while Weston Town is 70.7 per cent built before 1940. A page for the estates and a page for the older town each carry their own figures and your finished jobs.

  • Does the conservation area stop work in the town centre?

It adds a check. The Great Weston conservation area was created in 2018, bringing together five earlier designated areas along with further streets, and North Somerset Council lists an Article 4 direction for stone walls in it. The council says permission is needed to demolish walls, gates and fences one metre or above next to a highway, footpath, waterway or open space.

  • Weston only shows 90 searches a month for fencing. Is that worth a site?

OpenSEO recorded 90 monthly searches for fencing weston super mare, and 10 each for fencing companies, fencing contractors, fence repairs and decking with that town name. Three further phrases have no recorded volume. Those are estimates for particular wordings. The town page and a page per job are what we would build on them.
