Websites for roofers in Abingdon that fill the diary.

Abingdon has a conservation area centre and a large band of late twentieth century housing, and the site can speak to both.

Our totals of the Valuation Office stock table for March 2025 put 7.8% of Abingdon homes before 1919 and 41.2% between 1973 and 1999. We build a heritage page for the Town Centre conservation area, a strip and relay page for Caldecott, and a separate flat roof page. Free live demo, keep your domain, live in 7 days.

The houses in Abingdon

Our own totals of the Valuation Office stock table CTSOP4.1, stock at 31 March 2025, cover 15,050 dwellings across the four Abingdon census areas. 7.8% were built before 1919 and 15.4% before 1945. 31.1% date from 1945 to 1972 and 41.2% from 1973 to 1999, the largest single band in our totals.

On the same totals Abingdon Town and West is 16.4% pre 1919 and sits inside the Abingdon Town Centre conservation area, Abingdon Northcourt and Peachcroft is 0.3% pre 1919, and Abingdon South is 45.3% built between 1945 and 1972. Census 2021 table TS044 records Vale of White Horse as 36.8% detached and 30.5% semi detached.

Two kinds of roof sit behind those figures: slate, plain clay tile, lead flashing and parapet gutters in the old centre, and concrete tile with flat garage and extension roofs on the post war and late twentieth century estates. We would give each a page, with your own finished work on it.

Abingdon Town and West (Ock Street, Market Place)

16.4 per cent pre 1919 and 22.5 per cent built since 2000 (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025). Sits inside the Abingdon Town Centre conservation area.

Slate, plain clay tile, lead flashing, parapet and valley gutters. Listed and near listed property, so like for like and a written method statement.

Northcourt and Peachcroft

0.3 per cent pre 1919, 23.0 per cent 1945 to 1972, almost nothing built since 2000 (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025). Northcourt is the one Abingdon conservation area with an adopted appraisal.

Post war and 1970s to 1990s tile roofs coming up for renewal, plus flat roofs on garages and dormers.

Abingdon South (Caldecott)

45.3 per cent of dwellings built 1945 to 1972, 11.7 per cent inter war, 2.6 per cent pre 1919 (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025).

The classic post war semi job. Concrete tile strip and relay, flat garage roof, fascia, soffit and gutter.

Audlett Drive and Farm Road

32.0 per cent 1945 to 1972, 7.5 per cent pre 1919, 7.5 per cent inter war (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025).

Tile repair and replacement on mid century housing, with rear extension flat roofs at end of life.

Albert Park

A designated Abingdon conservation area with no adopted appraisal yet (Vale of White Horse District Council).

Victorian villa roofs, slate and valleys, and conservation area consent questions on any change of material.

The rules that change a roofing job in Abingdon

Abingdon has three designated conservation areas: Abingdon Northcourt, Abingdon Albert Park and Abingdon Town Centre. Only Northcourt has an adopted appraisal.

Vale of White Horse District Council states that conservation areas all benefit from the same level of protection whether or not an appraisal exists, and it lists Article 4 Directions on its conservation area pages.

We would build a page that explains which jobs need permission, states that all three areas carry the same protection, and says that you check the address against the conservation area boundary and against any Article 4 direction before you quote.

Who you are up against in Abingdon

We counted the Google Maps results for roofers in Abingdon on 16 September 2026. The sample was 40 listings: 31 had a website and 9 had none. The sample also returned Ayrshire and Scottish firms, and firms from Reading, Henley and Cheltenham.

That is one dated sample of one search. What we would do with it is build a page each for Ock Street and the Town Centre, for Northcourt and Peachcroft, and for Caldecott, with the jobs you have taken in those streets on them.

Where a roofer in Abingdon gets to when they invest

Three Abingdon firms appeared in the first ten Google local listings we checked for "roofers in Abingdon", with sites worth opening. Everlast Roofing Services, MJC Roofing and Abingdon On Thames Roofing and Building each carry their own site photographs and put the landline in the header.

  • Everlast Roofing Services

Built on WordPress. It carries a page per area, photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. Quotes come through a form, and the phone number sits in the header.

It runs a Locations menu with a page per town, a roofing work gallery and a Checkatrade badge naming its OX14 postcode.

  • MJC Roofing

Built on WordPress. It carries a page per area, photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. Quotes come through a form, and the phone number sits in the header.

It has a new-roofs-Abingdon page, an About page of job photographs taken on site and a Google review mark.

  • Abingdon On Thames Roofing & Building

All three keep the phone number in the header, both of the two we could check carry reviews on the page, and two run a page per area. Each one opened and checked 17 September 2026.

Roofers in Abingdon ask us

  • Why split Abingdon into more than one page?

On our totals of the Valuation Office stock table for March 2025, Abingdon Town and West is 16.4% pre 1919 and sits in the Town Centre conservation area, while Abingdon South is 45.3% built between 1945 and 1972. Separate pages let us show the photographs, the repair process and the quote questions for each job.

  • How much of Abingdon is old property?

On our totals of the Valuation Office stock table CTSOP4.1 for March 2025, 7.8% of Abingdon homes predate 1919 and 15.4% predate 1945, while 41.2% were built between 1973 and 1999, the largest single band in our totals. We would point the copy at that band and give the older centre its own heritage page.

  • What did you find on Google Maps for Abingdon roofers?

In our sample of 16 September 2026, 40 listings came back: 31 with a website, 9 with none, and the sample included Ayrshire, Reading, Henley and Cheltenham firms. That is one dated sample of one search. We would build a page each for Ock Street and the Town Centre, Northcourt and Peachcroft, and Caldecott, carrying your work in those streets.
