Websites for landscapers in Melksham that name Bowerhill on the page.

The houses in Melksham

The published Wiltshire row is 233,060 properties, 22.4 per cent of them built from 2000 onwards.

Melksham North holds 1,410 of its 3,390 properties in the 1945 to 1972 band and 550 from 2000 onwards. Melksham South holds 1,390 of its 3,640 in the 1973 to 1999 band. Census 2021 table TS044 records 48.7 per cent semi detached with 25.4 per cent terraced in the north, and 36.5 per cent semi detached, 23.1 per cent detached and 13.9 per cent purpose built flats in the south.

Two areas and an edge. We would build a page for each, name Bowerhill as the place it is, and let your finished gardens carry what the tables cannot.

Melksham North

3,390 properties, 41.6 per cent built between 1945 and 1972 and 16.2 per cent from 2000 onwards (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025). Census 2021 TS044 records 48.7 per cent semi detached and 25.4 per cent terraced.

Patios, turfing and boundary fencing on semi detached and terraced plots.

Melksham South

3,640 properties, 38.2 per cent built between 1973 and 1999 with 14 per cent before 1919 (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025). Census 2021 TS044 records 36.5 per cent semi detached, 23.1 per cent detached and 13.9 per cent purpose built flats.

Patios, planting and full garden rebuilds on detached and semi detached plots.

Bowerhill

Bowerhill is the Melksham edge area and sits outside the two census areas used for the town figures above, so no housing figure on this page covers it.

Garden work named on the page as a place the firm works, Avro Way and Lancaster Road among the streets.

The rules that change a landscaping job in Melksham

Melksham sits in Wiltshire Council's area, and Wiltshire is the local planning authority a tree notice goes to. Government guidance on gov.uk says works to trees in a conservation area require people to notify the local planning authority, using a section 211 notice, six weeks before carrying out certain work on such trees, unless an exception applies. The same guidance says the work may go ahead before the end of the six week period if the local planning authority gives consent.

Government guidance also says a tree preservation order prohibits cutting down, topping, lopping, uprooting, wilful damage and wilful destruction without the local planning authority's written consent. That is the rule we would quote on the page, with the link beside it.

On decking the Planning Portal says it may qualify as permitted development for eligible houses, subject to all the applicable limits and restrictions, among them height, coverage and position, with further restrictions where the land is designated or the building listed. The same page says those allowances do not apply to flats or maisonettes. On front gardens the Planning Portal says planning permission will be needed for a new or replacement driveway of more than five square metres laid in traditional, impermeable surfacing that does not provide for the water to run to a permeable area.

We would explain how you check the conservation boundary, any tree preservation order, any Article 4 direction and the proposed work before confirming whether permission or notice is needed.

Who you are up against in Melksham

We counted the Google Maps results for landscapers in Melksham on 16 September 2026. The sample was 40 listings and 27 of them carried an SN12 postcode. Seven of those 27 were merchants or unrelated businesses, among them a landscaping supply store, a sand and gravel supplier, a garden building supplier, a garden centre, a builders merchant, a solar company and a sports massage therapist, which leaves twenty in area trade listings: thirteen had a website and seven had none.

It is one search, counted once, on a dated day. What we would do with it is give Melksham North, Melksham South and Bowerhill a page each, with the gardens you have finished in them.

Where a landscaper in Melksham gets to when they invest

Three Melksham firms appeared in the first ten Google local listings we checked for "landscapers in Melksham", with sites worth opening. One of the three adds a what to expect page beside its service pages, walking a customer through the job before they enquire.

  • Wiltshire Landscapes LTD

Built on Wix. It carries photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. It has no page per area. Quotes come by phone.

It links straight out to its Checkatrade profile from the site, so the proof a buyer wants sits one click from the gallery.

  • Paved In Stone

It carries photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. It has no page per area. Quotes come through a form.

It gives driveways, patios and landscaping their own pages and adds a what to expect page that walks a customer through the job before they enquire.

  • Stoneage Property Care Ltd

A custom site built by an agency. It carries photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. Quotes come through a form, and the phone number sits in the header.

The site carries an areas we cover page, a where we work section and separate service pages.

The one site we could check keeps the phone number in the header, all three carry reviews on the page, and none of the two we could check run a page per area. Each one opened and checked 16 September 2026.

  • A home page naming Melksham North, Melksham South and Bowerhill.
  • A garden design page, since garden design Melksham carries a recorded monthly volume.
  • A patios page with the base and the materials named, for the Melksham South plots.
  • A turfing page showing the levelling as well as the finished lawn.
  • An artificial grass page with the edging and the base on lawns you have laid.
  • A rules page quoting the section 211 six week notice and the tree preservation order wording from gov.uk.

Landscapers in Melksham ask us

  • Which Melksham phrases actually carry a volume?

Garden design Melksham and landscape gardeners Melksham each returned 10 searches a month on 16 September 2026. The other queried phrases carry no recorded monthly volume. Those are measurements of the phrases, not forecasts. We would build the design page for the measured one and keep the rest on the town page.

  • How much was in the Melksham Maps count?

The pull on 16 September 2026 returned 40 listings, 27 of them with SN12 postcodes. Seven of those were merchants or unrelated businesses, leaving twenty trade listings, thirteen with a website and seven without. That is a count of the listings returned on the day, not of every firm working the town.

  • Do I need to say anything about decking heights?

The decking page can carry the conditions. The Planning Portal says decking may qualify as permitted development for eligible houses subject to limits on height, coverage and position, adds restrictions for designated land and listed buildings, and says the allowances do not apply to flats. Your own finished decks sit under that.
