Our own total of the Valuation Office stock table CTSOP4.1, stock at 31 March 2025, across the seven Taunton census areas is 30,080 properties. 7,030 of them, 23.4 per cent, were built from 2000 onwards, 7,940 between 1973 and 1999 and 4,880 before 1919. The published Somerset row against that is 272,060 properties, 21.8 per cent of them from 2000 onwards.
Halcon and Monkton Heathfield holds 1,630 of its 4,750 properties in the post 2000 bands and Rowbarton and Kingston 1,160 of its 3,660. North Town holds 2,270 of its 5,720 before 1919. Census 2021 table TS044 records 44.5 per cent detached with 34.5 per cent semi detached in Galmington and Trull, 43 per cent semi detached in Pyrland and Priorswood, 40.1 per cent terraced with 26 per cent purpose built flats in North Town, and 33.2 per cent purpose built flats in Wilton.

Galmington and Trull
3,880 properties, 40.2 per cent built between 1945 and 1972 (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025). Census 2021 TS044 records 44.5 per cent detached and 34.5 per cent semi detached, with 5.5 per cent purpose built flats.
