Bolton Council's conservation area downloads page lists 26 conservation area appraisals and management plans, including Chorley New Road, Barrow Bridge, Bank Top, Eagley Bank, Egerton, Dunscar Fold, Bradshaw Chapel, Firwood Fold, Deane Village, Queens Park, Horwich town centre, Horwich locomotive works, Wallsuches and Westhoughton.
The council says there is only currently one conservation area with an Article 4 direction and that it is Barrow Bridge. Across the rest of the borough, including the detached stock at Heaton, Lostock and Bromley Cross, the standard householder permitted development route is still open on that wording, and the constraint inside a conservation area is design and materials rather than lost rights.
We would build a page that says exactly that, explains which jobs need permission, and says that you check the address against the conservation boundary and the Barrow Bridge direction before you quote.
