Websites for driveway firms in Swansea that win the whole drive.

Swansea Council names 31 conservation areas designated under the Historic Environment (Wales) Act 2023, and states that only its own contractor may build a vehicle crossover, after the drive itself is complete.

We build a driveway site with a page for each surface you lay, area pages for Mumbles, Morriston and the Gower villages, and an estimate tool with photograph upload. Census 2021 records 24.0 per cent of Swansea households detached and 12.6 per cent in purpose built flats. See it live before you pay a penny, live in 7 days.

The houses in Swansea

The published Valuation Office row for the City and County of Swansea, CTSOP4.1 at 31 March 2025, holds 115,650 properties. 30,780 of them were built before 1919, which is 26.6 per cent, and 40.9 per cent date from before 1940, with 14.2 per cent from 2000 or later. These are the published authority figures and cover the whole county rather than the city alone.

Census 2021 table TS044 records 34.5 per cent of Swansea households in semi detached houses, 25.4 per cent terraced and 24.0 per cent detached, with 12.6 per cent in a purpose built block of flats.

We would build the surface pages around those frontages and give the communal parking court work its own page, written for a managing agent rather than a householder.

Mumbles

One of the council's 31 conservation areas and one of the nine it names as carrying an article 4 direction. The council states that Mumbles has recently been reviewed and the review document adopted as supplementary planning guidance.

Frontage and boundary work inside a reviewed conservation area with an article 4 direction over it.

Morriston

A named conservation area, reviewed and adopted as supplementary planning guidance alongside Mumbles and Ffynone and Uplands. The authority records 26.6 per cent of properties built before 1919 (Valuation Office stock tables, 2025).

Terrace and semi frontages in an older town centre, with the crossover built by the council after the drive.

Ffynone and Uplands

A named conservation area, reviewed and adopted as supplementary planning guidance. The Welsh Government states that permitted development rights are most commonly removed "in conservation areas where the character of an area could be threatened by unmanaged development".

Period frontage and boundary work where the surface material is part of the planning question.

Maritime Quarter

One of the nine conservation areas Swansea Council names as carrying an article 4 direction. Purpose built flats hold 12.6 per cent of Swansea households (Census 2021 TS044).

Communal forecourts and parking courts commissioned by managing agents.

Penclawdd and the Gower villages

Penclawdd, Rhossili, Horton, Port Eynon, Llangennith, Reynoldston and Holt's Field are the other seven conservation areas Swansea Council names as carrying an article 4 direction.

The rules that change a paving job in Swansea

Asked whether a householder can use their own contractor for a vehicle crossing, Swansea Council answers: "No - The City and County of Swansea, as the highway authority, has a responsibility to manage all work on the local highway network", and adds that "the practicalities of meeting these requirements mean that only the City and County of Swansea's own contractor may carry out these works". The same page sets the order of the job: "All new and extended driveways MUST be completed before we can construct the crossover."

The council names 31 conservation areas, designated under section 158/159 of the Historic Environment (Wales) Act 2023, and names nine that carry an article 4 direction: Maritime Quarter, Penclawdd, Mumbles, Rhossili, Horton, Port Eynon, Llangennith, Reynoldston and Holt's Field.

Swansea is a Welsh unitary, so the front garden rule is the Welsh Government's rather than the English Planning Portal's. The Welsh Government states that "if you are intending to lay or replace a hard surface to the front of your house you must use permeable or porous materials", that run off from an impermeable surface "must be directed to a permeable or porous surface to the front of your home", and that "you can replace or repair a small area of up to 5 square metres of existing hardsurfacing without using permeable or porous materials".

The council also states that "planning permission is not usually required if the access is onto an unclassified road, but might still be needed if the access forms part of more extensive works to the property, or the property is a conservation area", and that an access onto a classified A, B or C road does need planning permission.

We would explain how you check the conservation boundary, any article 4 direction, the crossover sequence and the proposed work before confirming whether permission is needed.

Who you are up against in Swansea

We counted the Google Maps results for paving and driveway firms in Swansea on 16 September 2026. The search returned 39 listings rather than 40, 19 of them carrying a Swansea postcode: 17 of those 19 had a website and 2 had none. Seven published no address and 13 gave an address outside the county. Two point at a Facebook page rather than a site of their own, six carried Swansea in their web address, and seven have resin in the business name.

That is one dated sample of one search. What we would do with it is give Mumbles, Morriston, Uplands, the Maritime Quarter and Penclawdd a page each, carrying the drives you have finished in them.

Where a driveway firm in Swansea gets to when they invest

Three Swansea firms appeared in the first ten Google local listings we checked for "driveway companies in Swansea", with sites worth opening. The Swansea pattern is a page per product rather than a page per trade, with resin driveways, resin patios, pathways, steps and stone carpets each given a page of their own.

  • Regal Resin group ltd

Built on WordPress. It carries a page per area, photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. Quotes come through WhatsApp.

The site has a page for each service in Swansea, covering resin driveways, tarmac driveways, patios, fencing, pergolas, decking and groundworks, plus a separate Llanelli page, a Checkatrade mark and a review feed.

  • A1 Resin LTD

Built on WordPress. It carries a page per area, photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. Quotes come through a form, and the phone number sits in the header.

The nav is built out of Swansea pages, one per product (resin driveways, resin patios, resin pathways, resin steps, stone carpets, sandstone patios, artificial grass, fencing) with an areas we cover page behind it, and the photographs are named after the jobs they show.

  • The Resin Co Group Ltd

Built on Squarespace. It carries photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. It has no page per area. Quotes come through a form.

The gallery uses Swansea job names in its image labels.

One keeps the phone number in the header, all three carry reviews on the page, and two run a page per area. Each one opened and checked 16 September 2026.

The Swansea searches worth their own page

  • "driveways Swansea"

210 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

The town page. It names the areas you cover and shows a finished drive in each.

  • "resin driveway Swansea"

170 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

A resin page of its own, with the aggregate and the edge detail photographed close up.

  • "patios Swansea"

20 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

A patios page written for a garden rather than a frontage.

  • "paving contractors Swansea"

20 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

Its own page, about contract work, with the schedule and invoicing set out.

  • "block paving Swansea"

10 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

A block paving page built around the permeable options the Welsh rule names.

  • "tarmac driveway Swansea"

no recorded monthly volume (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

A tarmac page still gets built, showing the base going in under the finished surface.

  • "driveway repairs Swansea"

no recorded monthly volume (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

A repairs page, which is where the five square metre replacement allowance is explained.

Of the seven phrases shown, five carry a monthly volume. The two without are tarmac driveway Swansea and driveway repairs Swansea.

What we would build for a Swansea driveway firm

  • A home page naming Mumbles, Morriston, Uplands, the Maritime Quarter, Penclawdd and Gower.
  • A resin page with a Swansea drive photographed close enough to read the aggregate.
  • A block paving page quoting the Welsh Government wording on permeable and porous materials.
  • A tarmac page showing the base depth on a Morriston frontage.
  • A patios page built on finished Mumbles and Uplands gardens.
  • A crossover page setting out that the council's own contractor builds it once your drive is complete.
  • Area pages for Mumbles, Morriston, Uplands, the Maritime Quarter, Penclawdd and Gower.
  • A quote tool that asks drive, patio, repairs or walling, the rough size and the timing, with photographs.

Paving and driveway firms in Swansea ask us

  • Does the Swansea crossover rule change what the site should say?

It changes the running order. Swansea Council states that only its own contractor may carry out the crossover work, and that all new and extended driveways must be completed before it will construct one. A page can set out that sequence, say which part you carry out, and show a finished drive waiting on it.

  • Are the Welsh paving rules different from the English ones?

Yes. The Welsh Government states that a hard surface laid or replaced at the front of a house must use permeable or porous materials, or direct run off to a permeable surface at the front, with an allowance of up to five square metres for replacing existing hard surfacing. A page can quote that wording directly.

  • How much resin work is there in Swansea?

OpenSEO recorded 170 searches a month for resin driveway Swansea against 210 for driveways Swansea, read in September 2026, and seven of the 39 sampled Maps listings have resin in the business name. Those are dated observations. A resin page with your own finished drives on it is what we would build from them.
