Our own totals of the Valuation Office table CTSOP4.1, stock at 31 March 2025, cover 15,130 dwellings across the four census areas that make up Morley (Morley North and Gildersome East, Morley East, Morley Central, and Morley Bruntcliffe and Woodkirk). 20.0 per cent predate 1919 and 32.8 per cent predate 1940, with 24.8 per cent built between 1945 and 1972, 23.9 per cent between 1973 and 1999 and 18.4 per cent in 2000 or later.
The published Leeds row in the same table records 376,780 properties, 17.2 per cent of them pre 1919. Census 2021 table TS044 puts 37.5 per cent of Leeds households in semis, 25.0 per cent in terraces and 17.5 per cent in purpose built flats. Table TS054 records 20.0 per cent of Leeds households renting from a private landlord or letting agency, with a further 1.8 per cent in other private rented homes.
Private renting varies sharply inside the town. Census 2021 table TS054 puts Morley Central at 28.5 per cent, Morley East at 21.9 per cent, Morley Bruntcliffe and Woodkirk at 16.2 per cent and Morley North and Gildersome East at 12.1 per cent. Morley Central
29.2 per cent built before 1919 and 37.1 per cent before 1940, with 28.5 per cent of households privately rented (our own percentages, Valuation Office table CTSOP4.1, and Census 2021 table TS054).

Bruntcliffe and Woodkirk
39.8 per cent built before 1940 and 24.8 per cent in 2000 or later, with 16.2 per cent of households privately rented (our own percentages, Valuation Office table CTSOP4.1, and Census 2021 table TS054).
Two jobs on one street. Period terrace repairs on one side, newer estate housing on the other where the call is a service or a fault code on a unit still under warranty.
Morley North and Gildersome East
40.1 per cent built between 1945 and 1972 and 12.6 per cent pre 1919, with 12.1 per cent of households privately rented (our own percentages, Valuation Office table CTSOP4.1, and Census 2021 table TS054).
Owner occupied post war semis. Planned work, quotes compared, and the bathroom refit that follows a year later.
Churwell
30.5 per cent built between 1945 and 1972 and 32.9 per cent between 1973 and 1999, with 10.2 per cent pre 1919 and 13.4 per cent of households privately rented (our own percentages, Valuation Office table CTSOP4.1, and Census 2021 table TS054).

Tingley and the Ardsleys
Tingley West and West Ardsley is 41.0 per cent built between 1973 and 1999 with 8.3 per cent pre 1919, while Tingley East and East Ardsley is 37.1 per cent pre 1940 (our own percentages, Valuation Office table CTSOP4.1, 31 March 2025).
Boiler swaps and heating upgrades on later estate housing to the west, older repair work to the east. One firm in the Maps sample already trades under a Tingley name, so it reads as its own search.
