Websites for drainage firms in Stoke-on-Trent that answer whose drain it is.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council states that it does not service private drains or sewers, and Severn Trent Water is the sewerage undertaker for the city.

We build a page for each named service, an area page for Tunstall, Fenton and Bentilee, and a quote tool that takes a photograph of the standing water. Census 2021 records 46.1 per cent of Stoke-on-Trent households in semi detached houses and 18.2 per cent renting from a private landlord or letting agency. The houses in Stoke-on-Trent

The published Valuation Office stock table CTSOP4.1, stock at 31 March 2025, records 119,760 properties in Stoke-on-Trent. 21.9 per cent were built before 1919 and 40.5 per cent before 1940. 29.5 per cent went up between 1945 and 1972, 17.4 per cent between 1973 and 1999 and 12.1 per cent since 2000.

Census 2021 table TS044 records 46.1 per cent of households in semi detached houses, 27.6 per cent terraced, 15.0 per cent detached and 9.2 per cent in purpose built flats. Table TS054 records 18.2 per cent renting from a private landlord or letting agency and 22.2 per cent renting socially. Stoke-on-Trent is its own unitary authority. The published row covers the city rather than a town inside it.

We would split that into pages you can point a customer at. The older Tunstall and Northwood end of the city, the post war Bentilee estate and the newer building around Hanley each get their own page, carrying photographs of your finished work and an account of what the job involved.

Tunstall

61.1 per cent of dwellings built before 1919, with 8.3 per cent from 1945 to 1972 (VOA CTSOP4.1, our own reading of the published MSOA row).

A page explaining how a survey records the route of a drain and how responsibility for it is checked.

Northwood

57.2 per cent built before 1919 (VOA CTSOP4.1, MSOA row).

A page on private drains, shared sewers and lateral drains, written in plain words.

Fenton and Florence

Both 51.5 per cent built before 1919 (VOA CTSOP4.1, MSOA rows).

Unblocking, repair and relining written as three separate services, with a page on what a pre purchase drain survey covers.

Bentilee and Ubberley

87.8 per cent built between 1945 and 1972 (VOA CTSOP4.1, MSOA row).

A completed local job written up with photographs and an account of the work.

Boothen and Penkhull

49.7 per cent built before 1919, with 22.0 per cent built since 2000 (VOA CTSOP4.1, MSOA row).

A quote route that asks for the property address, the problem and the access before anyone drives out.

The rules that change a drainage job in Stoke-on-Trent

Stoke-on-Trent City Council states that "a private drain is the section of pipe that carries waste from a property until it reaches the public sewers", that the council "does not service private drains or sewers", and that "if your private drain is blocked or overflowing you will need to contact a drainage contractor". The council is also the Lead Local Flood Authority for the city, which covers sources other than main rivers and the sea.

The transfer on 1 October 2011 covered qualifying private sewers and lateral drains connected to the public sewer system by 1 July 2011 (gov.uk, the private sewers transfer regulations). Responsibility for an individual pipe should be checked with the sewerage undertaker, which here is Severn Trent Water.

Severn Trent's asset protection pages set out the build over route. A formal build over agreement is written permission to build over or close to a public sewer, and its self certification route is open where the works meet the published criteria.

We would explain how you check the build over agreement, the responsibility for the pipe and the proposed work before confirming whether permission is needed.

Who you are up against in Stoke-on-Trent

We counted the Google Maps results for drainage companies in Stoke-on-Trent on 16 September 2026. The sample was 40 listings: 34 had a website and 6 had none. Eight of the 40 describe themselves as a drainage service with a Stoke-on-Trent address. Five are merchants or pipe and plastics suppliers, one is a national franchise branch, one is a water retailer's head office, and the rest are landscapers, paving contractors and businesses in other trades.

That is one dated sample of one search. What we would do with it is give Tunstall, Northwood, Fenton, Bentilee and Penkhull a page each, carrying the jobs you have finished in them.

Where a drainage firm in Stoke-on-Trent gets to when they invest

Three Stoke-on-Trent firms appeared in the first ten Google local listings we checked for "drainage companies in Stoke-on-Trent", with sites worth opening. One of them offers WhatsApp alongside the call, and another shows a mobile number and a Stoke landline together.

  • Ajb drainage

Built on Wix. It carries photographs of its own jobs. It has no page per area and no reviews on the page. Quotes come through a form, and the phone number sits in the header.

The mobile number sits above the menu, and the gallery carries the firm's own job photographs.

  • Staffordshire Drainage Services

Built on WordPress. It carries photographs of its own jobs and reviews on the page. It has no page per area. Quotes come through WhatsApp, and the phone number sits in the header.

It puts the email address and the mobile number side by side at the top and offers WhatsApp as well as a call.

  • Drains Fast

Built on WordPress. It carries photographs of its own jobs. It has no page per area. Quotes come through a form, and the phone number sits in the header.

It displays a mobile number and a Stoke landline in the header.

All three keep the phone number in the header, one of the two we could check carries reviews on the page, and none run a page per area. Each one opened and checked 16 September 2026.

The Stoke-on-Trent searches worth their own page

  • "blocked drain Stoke-on-Trent"

170 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

The emergency page. Number at the top of the screen, what you do when you arrive, and the areas you cover underneath it.

  • "drain unblocking Stoke-on-Trent"

70 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

A page of its own, written for the job booked in for the morning rather than the one shouted down the phone.

  • "CCTV drain survey Stoke-on-Trent"

50 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

A survey page with a still from the camera on it and a plain account of what the report covers.

  • "drain jetting Stoke-on-Trent"

20 searches a month (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

The jetter gets its own page, with the jobs the rods would not shift.

  • "drain repairs Stoke-on-Trent"

no recorded monthly volume (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

The repair and relining page still gets built, sitting under the town page with the survey page beside it.

  • "emergency drain unblocking Stoke-on-Trent"

no recorded monthly volume (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026)

It shares the emergency page rather than taking one of its own, with the out of hours number stated on it.

Of the six phrases shown, four carry a volume. Drain repairs Stoke-on-Trent and emergency drain unblocking Stoke-on-Trent returned no recorded monthly volume.

What we would build for a Stoke-on-Trent drainage firm

  • A home page naming Tunstall, Northwood, Fenton, Bentilee, Penkhull and Hanley.
  • A blocked drain page built for the phone, with the number fixed to the screen.
  • A drain unblocking page beside it for the job that can wait until the morning.
  • A CCTV drain survey page showing a still from the camera and what the report covers.
  • A drain jetting page for the work the rods will not shift.
  • A page on private drains, lateral drains and public sewers, quoting the council and Severn Trent.
  • Area pages for Tunstall, Northwood, Fenton, Florence, Bentilee and Penkhull.
  • A quote tool that asks what is blocked, how urgent it is, house or business, and takes a photograph.

What every drainage site needs, whatever the town, is on our drainage companies page.

Drainage companies in Stoke-on-Trent ask us

  • Is the drain in my customer's garden my job or Severn Trent's?

Stoke-on-Trent City Council says it does not service private drains or sewers, and that a blocked private drain means calling a drainage contractor. The 2011 transfer covered qualifying private sewers and lateral drains connected to the public sewer system by 1 July 2011. We would build a page that quotes both and links to them.

  • Which Stoke searches would get a page of their own?

Blocked drain Stoke-on-Trent is searched 170 times a month, drain unblocking 70, CCTV drain survey 50 and drain jetting 20 (OpenSEO keyword data, September 2026). Those are figures for the phrases rather than counts of customers. We would give each named service a page of its own with your photographs on it.

  • Does the age of the housing change what the site says?

The Valuation Office records 21.9 per cent of the city as built before 1919 and 40.5 per cent before 1940, and its Tunstall row reads 61.1 per cent before 1919. Those figures describe building age. We would carry photographs of your completed work in the named areas, with the figures quoted and sourced beside them.
